Shivaji Rao Gaekwad (conceived 12 December 1950), referred to expertly as Rajinikanth, is an Indian entertainer who works fundamentally in Tamil film. The Government of India has respected him with the Padma Bhushan (2000) and the Padma Vibhushan (2016). He got the Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for Excellence in Indian Cinema at the fourth Vijay Awards. At the 45th International Film Festival of India (2014), he was consulted with the "Centennial Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year". At the 50th version of the International Film Festival of India (2019), he was respected with the Icon of Global Jubilee award. He is the second-most noteworthy earning entertainer in Tamil film history, behind M. G. Ramachandran. At the 67th National Film Awards, he was granted the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Following his presentation in K. Balachander's 1975 Tamil dramatization Apoorva Raagangal, Rajinikanth's acting vocation initiated with a short period of depicting opposing characters in Tamil movies.
