Andhra provides Rs 10K aid to autorickshaw, cab drivers

For the third consecutive year, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday attributed Rs 10,000 monetary help each to 2.48 lakh qualified autorickshaw and cab drivers of the state as a feature of the YSR Vahana Mitra plot.

The complete guide added up to Rs 248 crore, even as Reddy said that the state would contribute to pay for the repetitive costs like protection, vehicle upkeep and for getting wellness endorsements.

Vahana Mitra help was a guarantee made by the Chief Minister during his 3,648-km long 'padayatra' as a resistance chief prior to raging to control in 2019.

"In the wake of seeing the challenges of the auto drivers, who barely procure Rs 500 per day and need to pay a gigantic amount of Rs 10,000 towards protection and different costs needed for getting a wellness testament, the public authority thought of this government assistance drive," said Reddy.

He said 84% of these recipients are from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Backward Classes (BC) and minority networks.

As indicated by the Chief Minister, the plan benefits the drivers, yet additionally helps the travelers experience a protected excursion.

Under Vahana Mitra, Rs 759 crore has been credited as of recently, said Reddy, adding that no other state has a plan like this.
