A Casual Corner of Thoughts

Once in a village there was a fruit seller named John. He had set up small retail shop besides the Bus stop. In his shop he had beautifully arranged various types of fruits. The arrangement of fruits was in such a way that it attracted many customers. In fact his shop was located at a prime place. People as soon as they get down from the bus directly used to walk in to his shop and buy some fresh fruits. This made John very happy and proud.

One fine day the John decided to put up a white board in order to increase his sales. On that white board he had written, “Fresh Fruits Sold Here!” The idea of placing this board near the entrance really worked and as a result sales increased.

One fine day a customer came by to buy some mangoes. He noticed the board on which it was written, “Fresh Fruits Sold Here!” He asked the fruit seller, “Why have you written ‘Fresh’ when everybody can make out that these fruits are very fresh. None of the fruits in your shop is rotten. So better you remove the word ‘Fresh’ and leave the rest.” John took his advice seriously and decided to remove the word ‘Fresh’. Now on the board it was left with only “Fruits Sold Here!”

On the same day at 11 o'clock a lady came by to buy some grapes. She noticed the board on which it was written “Fruits Sold Here!” She told the fruit seller, “Why you have written ‘Fruits’ on this board?” She added, “Everybody knows that you are selling ‘Fruits’ and not ‘vegetables’. Hence it is better you remove the word ‘Fruits’ and leave the rest.” The fruit seller did exactly what the lady had told him. Now the board was left with “Sold Here!”

At around 01:30 PM a friend of John came to the shop to buy some watermelons. He too noticed the board on which it was written “Sold Here!” He told the fruit seller, “Why have you written ‘sold’ when everybody knows that you are ‘selling’ and not ‘buying’. It is better you remove the word sold!” The fruit seller again took the advice of his friend and did exactly as he said. The board was left with the word ‘Here!’

In the evening at around 3 o'clock in the evening a boy was returning home from his school. On his way to home he noticed the whiteboard on which it was written ‘Here!’ He said to the fruits seller, “Why have you written the word ‘Here! Everybody knows that you are selling fruits ‘here’ and not ‘there’. Hence you better not right the word ‘here’ on this white board.” The shopkeeper did exactly what the boy had said to him. Now the board was left empty.

Next morning few customers visited the fruit shop to buy some fresh fruits. One among them noticed the plain white board kept the entrance of the shop. He asked the fruit seller, “Why have you kept this plane board? Why don’t you write something on it to attract customers?

Dear readers, this is what happens in our life too. Whenever we are in stuck in a situation, we seek advice from others no matter who he/she is. Good that we ask for advices or suggestions. But we must be wise enough as to which advice is good to take and which not to listen. People usually take the bad advises unknowingly. Wrong advices will always lead you into trouble.

When we come across difficult situation we must not get panic at once, rather we must cool down and think properly as to where we have gone wrong. Only then we can solve a problem from its root.

To be frank, the best advice to receive is from our loving parents. They are quite experienced and they do not give us any wrong advice. They are the one on whom we can trust blindly. They always wish us success and would love to see their children growing up. Hence we must reach out to our parents or elders to see advice. Moreover it all depends on us whether to take it or ignore it.

Be Wise! Good Luck!
