Legendary athlete Milkha Singh passes away at 91

Incredible Indian competitor Milkha Singh, prominently known as 'Flying Sikh', died in a nearby medical clinic here at 11.30 p.m. on Friday, said an articulation from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, where he was being treated for Covid-related confusions.

Milkha was 91, and is made due by a child, pro golf player Jeev Milkha Singh, and three little girls.

"Notwithstanding, because of post-Covid inconveniences, he was moved out of Covid Hospital to clinical ICU. Yet, notwithstanding best of the endeavors by the clinical group, Milkha Singh ji couldn't be recovered from his basic condition and after a courageous battle, he left for his sublime habitation at 11.30 p.m. on eighteenth June 2021, here at PGIMER," the assertion said.

Milkha Singh's family additionally gave an assertion after he died.

"He contended energetically however God has his methodologies and it was maybe genuine romance and friendship that both our mom Nirmal ji and now father have died in only five days," the family proclamation read.

Milkha became well known when he timed 45.6 seconds to complete fourth at the 1960 Rome Olympic Games. Until that time, it was the nearest that an Indian competitor had come to winning an individual Olympic decoration.

Afterward, obviously, P.T. Usha missed a bronze just barely in 400m obstacles at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. She timed 55.42 seconds, and missed the bronze by a simple 0.01 seconds.

Many years after the fact, a Bollywood film was made on Milkha Singh.
